A Nigerian lady is showing gratitude towards BBNaija winner, Laycon for paying for the medical bills of sickle cell patients at a hospital.
The lady known as Bolaji Ekun narrated on her Twitter page that she took her sister, a sickle cell patient to a foundation to seek funding for the welfare and medical expenses for where only to be told on arrival that Laycon had settled the bills already. According to Bolaji, her sister burst into tears over the love shown them by the reality star and rapper. “My cousin took her son to sickle cell foundation idiaraba to get drug for her son , she was told to pay little amount of money cos Laycon gave them money to treat SS patient. She cried and she was so happy cos her president love them. Thanks Laycon”, she wrote.
Big Brother Naija Lockdown winner, Laycon has finally cleared the air about revelation of his SC genotype that generated a lot of controversy on social media.
Laycon sickle cell The singer in an interview Inspiration FM this morning, revealed that the only person he remembers telling about being Sickle Cell was his friend Vee.
According to him, that is because he knew she would respect the information.
He also advised that there is a need to start creating more awareness about SC genotypes, that he is not the kind of guy that likes to get things out of pity.
Recall that last week, Erica was under fire as Laycon’s genotype stirred controversy after a video of Erica insulting him about not taking his drug surfaced online, and it got people slamming her for being “insensitive” and using it against him.
#bbniaja2020:.”When Did Laycon’s Name Become Poverty?” – Dele Momodou Replies Amidst Accusations Of Shaming #Laycon.
For the past 24 hours, the founder and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodou has been under severe attacks from fans and loyalists of Big Brother Naija housemate, Laycon.
Laycon:
Laycon’s popularity has grown like wild fire even since portraying and displaying the mature character amongst the housemates, in the face of serious offensive and hurtful words from housemates, especially, the disqualified Erica.
It is not a crime to fall in love and when he did fall for Erica, she saw him as no match for her beauty and called him unprintable names, but he remained calm, unscathed and did not reply any of her abuses, thus winning lots of fans to himself.
Not just his mature nature, but also he seems very intelligent and always a solution provider, winning tasks in the house, which comes with rewards.
Dele Momodou:
His contribution to the saga on the Nigerian screen, especially the BBN show, didn’t help matters, when he showed open support for KiddWaya.
Supporting someone is not a bad idea, but how he went about talking that people should banish poverty mentality, and as for him, he is rooting for KiddWaya.
Because of these utterances from him (Dele Momodou), fans felt he was referring to Laycon as poor/poverty in his jibe, and they came all out for him.
Yesterday on twitter, he posted about how he supports democracy and he’s a Democrat, citing examples with his staff who don’t support or vote for same candidates as him, but vote for their choice. That post drew attacks from Laycon’s fans, and one particular twitter user hushed him up, asking him to remember when he called Laycon poor, telling people not to vote for poverty.
Obviously, Dele Momodou got hit by these stings of attacks and has no choice but to reply. Read below his tweet, defending his statement about ‘poverty’.
“When did Laycon’s name become Poverty, for God’s sake? I’ve never referred to the gentleman in my tweets, NEVER. I merely advised those who hated KIDDWAYA and judged him on account of his Dad to banish “poverty mentality!” How did that become Laycon?”
Well, readers should have their say and judge. Whatever is his motive or intention, he alone can say, but the message from the twitter user was passed, same also was his reply, but we know what to believe as readers.
Kindly share and comment on what you think about his reply. Was he wrong or right to use those words especially in the heat of the moment?
